Should I choose a studio newborn session, an in-home newborn session, or a Fresh 48 session?
The right option depends on your family's preferences. Studio newborn sessions offer access to professional lighting, wraps, props, and a controlled environment. In-home newborn sessions provide a relaxed lifestyle approach in the comfort of your own home. Fresh 48 sessions take place shortly after birth and document the first moments of your baby's story in a natural, documentary style.
Do you serve families outside of Springfield, Missouri?
Yes. I photograph newborns and growing families throughout Springfield, Nixa, Ozark, Republic, Rogersville, Willard, Strafford, Battlefield, Fair Grove, Marshfield, and surrounding Southwest Missouri communities. Studio, in-home, and Fresh 48 sessions are available depending on location and availability.
What should we wear for our newborn photography session?
Simple, neutral clothing photographs beautifully and helps keep the focus on your family's connection. Soft textures and coordinating colors work well without being overly matching. Clients also have access to my growing client closet for moms and babies, and I'm happy to provide styling guidance before your session.
What happens if my baby arrives early or late?
Don't worry—newborn sessions are scheduled around your due date, not a specific session date. I reserve flexibility in my calendar for expecting families and will adjust your session once your baby arrives. Whether your little one makes an early entrance or keeps everyone waiting a little longer, we'll work together to find the best time for your newborn photography session.
Do you photograph twins and multiples?
Yes! I have experience photographing twins and understand that every baby has unique needs and schedules. Twin newborn sessions are carefully planned with plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and individual portraits, as well as images of your babies together and with your family. My baby-led approach ensures a calm and safe experience for everyone involved.
What if my baby doesn’t cooperate during the session?
That’s completely normal and expected every newborn session is baby-led. There is no pressure for your baby to “perform” or stay asleep the entire time. Sessions are scheduled with plenty of time for feeding, soothing, diaper changes, and breaks as needed.
I work at your baby’s pace and adjust everything based on their comfort. Some babies sleep the entire session, while others stay awake for part of it or need extra cuddling time. All of it is perfectly okay, and beautiful images can be created in every situation.
My goal is to create a calm, relaxed environment so your baby feels safe and settled, which naturally leads to the sweetest and most authentic images.
