FAQ

Do you travel for photoshoots?
Yes! I’m happy to travel throughout the Midwest — just reach out for details and travel rates.
Where do sessions take place?
I photograph outdoor sessions around the Springfield, MO area, as well as in-studio or in the comfort of your home. I’ll help you choose the perfect setting!
What if I need to reschedule?
Please give as much notice as possible. I understand that plans change! If you need to reschedule, please notify me at least 24-48 hours before your session.
A reschedule fee applies if you reschedule with less than 24 hours' notice. The fee amount depends on whether your session is in a studio or outdoors, as studio rentals may incur higher costs.
For weather-related reschedules on outdoor sessions, the fee is waived, and we’ll find a new date that works best for you.
Thanks for your understanding and communication—it helps everything run smoothly!
Are the travel expenses included in your packages or covered additionally?
Travel within 30 miles of Springfield, MO is included in all sessions. Anything beyond that will have a small additional fee to cover mileage, time, or overnight stays if needed. I’m always happy to provide a custom travel quote — just reach out and tell me where you’re located!
What’s your photography style?
I focus on heartfelt, natural storytelling. I want your images to reflect your real connection, not stiff poses. Expect gentle direction, lots of movement, and space to just be yourselves.
Do you help with posing?
Yes! I’ll guide you every step of the way — but in a way that feels natural and relaxed. I’ll never leave you standing there wondering what to do with your hands!
What should we wear?
Once you book, you’ll receive a style guide + access to my client closet. I offer flattering dresses for mamas, cozy newborn pieces, and I’m happy to help you coordinate outfits for the whole family.
Do you offer any session bundles?
Yes! I offer a Bump to Baby Collection, which includes maternity, Fresh 48 or newborn, and a milestone session. It’s perfect for documenting this special journey. Reach out and I’ll send over all the details!
What if the weather is bad?
I keep a close eye on the forecast. If the weather isn't safe or ideal for your session, we’ll reschedule — no stress. I want you to feel your best and love your photos!
What happens if I cancel?
The non-refundable retainer secures your date and covers time already invested. If you cancel completely, it cannot be refunded — but I do allow one reschedule as a courtesy when notice is given.
What if you have to cancel?
If I ever have to cancel (which is extremely rare), I will first try my absolute best to reschedule your session. If we can’t make it work, I’ll refund your retainer in full or apply it to a future session.
When should I schedule my maternity session?
Maternity sessions are best scheduled between 28 and 36 weeks of pregnancy. This timing lets you feel comfortable and still show your beautiful baby bump. Booking early is recommended to reserve your preferred date.
When should I book my newborn or Fresh 48 session?
Ideally during your second trimester! Fresh 48 spots are very limited, so the sooner the better. Once booked, you'll message me when you're in labor so I can plan to be there within 48 hours of baby’s arrival.
Do you offer birth photography?
At this time, I do not offer birth photography services. My focus is on lifestyle motherhood, maternity, newborn, Fresh 48, and family photography. However, I’d love to capture those special moments before and after your baby’s arrival!
What’s the difference between birth photography and Fresh 48 sessions?
Birth photography captures the actual moments of labor and delivery and requires being present during your baby’s birth. At this time, I do not offer birth photography services.
A Fresh 48 session takes place within the first 48 hours after your baby is born, usually at the hospital or your home. It focuses on capturing those tender, early moments with your newborn and family in a natural, lifestyle way. Fresh 48 sessions are a wonderful way to preserve the very beginning of your baby’s story without being present at the birth itself.
Are you newborn safety certified?
Yes! I am fully certified in Newborn Safety & Education. Your baby’s safety and comfort are my top priorities during every session, so you can trust your little one is in gentle, experienced hands.
Do you offer wedding photography?
Not at this time — my heart is fully focused on families, motherhood, and newborns. But I’d be happy to share a referral list of incredible wedding photographers I trust and recommend!
Just contact me and I’ll send it your way.
When will we get our photos?
My typical turnaround time is 2–3 weeks for lifestyle sessions (family, motherhood, newborn, etc.). Once your session is edited, you’ll receive a proof gallery where you can view your images and select your favorites based on your package. After you’ve made your selections, I’ll finalize and deliver your chosen high-resolution images.
Please note: I do not send sneak peeks. I believe in delivering a full, cohesive gallery experience once everything is ready.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! Payment plans are available for most sessions. Just reach out, and we’ll create a plan that works for you.
How do I book a session?
You can book directly through my booking link. Choose your session type, select your date, and submit your retainer to reserve your spot!
Do you provide props and wraps for newborns?
Yes — I’ve got everything we need! I bring a full selection of neutral, timeless props, swaddles, headbands, and other essentials for your baby. You’re welcome to include any special heirlooms or personal touches too.
Is there an extra fee for studio sessions?
Yes — if your session takes place at a rented studio (like Studio Share 417), a studio rental fee will apply. This fee is separate from my session pricing and is paid directly by the client. Studio rates vary based on location, time, and duration. I’ll help guide you through the process and confirm availability before your session is finalized.
Why isn’t the studio fee included in your pricing?
Because every studio has different rates and policies, I keep my session pricing separate to give you flexibility. Some clients prefer outdoor locations or in-home sessions, while others choose a studio — so it makes the most sense to only charge the studio fee when needed.
When is the best time for sessions?
Outdoor sessions: These are typically scheduled around sunset (golden hour) for the softest, most flattering light — usually 1–2 hours before sunset.
Studio sessions: These can be done earlier in the day, often between 10 AM and 2 PM, when natural light is at its best indoors.
Newborn sessions: Mid-morning tends to work well when babies are typically more settled and calm.
Fresh 48 sessions: These are scheduled within the first 24–48 hours after birth, depending on your recovery and baby’s arrival time.
If you’re not sure what works best, I’m happy to recommend the ideal time for your specific session!
How do we access and download our photos?
Once your final images are ready, you’ll receive a private online gallery link via email. From there, you can view, download, and share your high-resolution photos easily.
Galleries remain live for 6 months to give you plenty of time to download your images. After 6 months, a small fee is required to restore access or retrieve your photos.
If you need the gallery extended or re-sent, just reach out — I’m happy to help!
